Laura
Event Organizer

Meet #CAPSULEmuse Laura, who seems to glide effortlessly through every event season with her fast-paced rhythm.

I have been organizing events for many years. It all started back in school. I have never been afraid of responsibilities and have always loved helping people celebrate. Those who say they never make mistakes – are lying. If you work a lot, it is impossible to avoid mistakes, and everything depends on perspective. For me, mistakes are lessons. But I take each mistake very personally.

I don’t always respond to emails quickly, and I often take on too much simply because I don’t know how to say no. My best decisions are often guided by intuition, but that probably comes from experience, keeping up with new trends, studying human behavior differences, and sometimes having the courage to do things differently than everyone else.

The job of an event organizer is very dynamic. Especially when you work for yourself, you often forget to count the hours. In the summer, I wake up at 5:00 AM and only close my laptop when I finish all the essential tasks – and that is rarely at 6:00 PM. Far from it. On event days, I no longer count the hours; what matters to me is the result, and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to achieve it.

Moreover, my workload is very seasonal. When we’re not organizing weekend events, I try to catch up on lost sleep and shift my focus from caring for strangers to spending time with my loved ones and friends. I also always try—sometimes force myself—to make time for myself. Sports and books are my escape and a way to switch my brain to another mode. Sometimes I have to do this forcibly because I always have unanswered emails and unfinished tasks

Since my work requires so much planning, I love not planning anything in my free time. Even when I travel, I often don’t know where I will be the next day. I leave many things to chance and let life surprise me.

Ever thought about jumping into a completely different field? To be honest, I feel like I’m in my element. But I also allow myself to try new things whenever I find the time.
