Meet – #CAPSULEmuse Jurga.

We're introducing our #CAPSULEmuse Jurga in a new way. This time, she's in conversation with CAPSULE by Agnė Gilytė founder Agnė herself.

Agnė: When we first met, what stayed with me was this woman who looked so effortlessly beautiful with a big orange dog. That was my first impression. Such a distinctive, authentic style — is that something intuitive, something you're born with, or is it learned over time, perhaps even shaped by life itself?

Jurga: Thank you for the compliment, first of all. I think everything, of course, comes from childhood — from what you see at home. I watched my mother, who always said and showed by example that a woman is a woman, and that even a bathrobe should never look worn out. And now it's my daughter — my teenage daughter — who opened the doors of secondhand shops for me. I wanted to spend time with her, started going along, and realised there are irreplaceable layers of creativity to be found there.

It's perfectly fine to have your own style and not blend into the crowd.

Agnė: How beautiful that you can teach your daughter and learn from her at the same time. Was there a moment in your life, Jurga, when you realised you no longer wanted to dress a certain way? You do serious academic work — one might expect a woman in a strict suit, muted colours, a very standard cut. And then there's Jurga, with her own authentic style.

Jurga: When responsibilities started to pile up and life fell into a very strict routine — days measured in minutes — clothing became the only space for free self-expression. And since I truly believe that style mistakes aren't mistakes, just better or worse combinations — if something doesn't feel right, you simply dress differently the next day. That's not a mistake.

Agnė: What is it then? Because it's clearly something wonderful in your life.

Jurga: Simply play. Absolutely play. It's a way to unwind, to immerse yourself, to shift your thoughts into a completely different part of life.

Agnė: Is style more about the clothes you choose, or is it an expression and extension of your inner state?

Jurga: Only an expression of inner state and a woman's confidence. I believe you only look good when you feel good.

Agnė: Be honest — do you have a lot of clothes?

Jurga: I think so, because I'm attached — attached to people, attached to the clothes I love. Once I make something my own, whether it's a person or an object, I take care of it. And yes, I love flowing in dresses, I love flowing in skirts, and I have quite a few of them.

Agnė: What would you say to your younger self, the one still figuring out how to dress, what suits her, how to express herself — what are those clothes really about?

Jurga: Explore. Allow. Allow yourself to get it wrong. And gradually understand that it's perfectly fine to have your own style and not blend into the crowd.

Agnė: And it's absolutely fine to shine in red on an ordinary Wednesday evening, walking the dog.

Jurga: Oh, absolutely!
