Meet - #CAPSULEmuse Vilija, a ballerina beaming with the joy of life, who shares with us parts of her life today.

Hello, I'm Vilija. I am a professional ballet dancer. I work in a magical place at the National Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre. Although I have been accompanied by movement, ballroom dance groups and other activities since my childhood, ballet came into my life at a very strange time. Early adolescence, finished elementary school, new dreams not related to dance, new people and an offer to try your hand at a ballet school as if out of the blue. I won't lie, I spent a lot of time thinking about it, because there were already a lot of changes, and that big unfamiliar word BALLET scared and disturbed me.

Having decided to devote only a year to this adventure, just as unexpectedly ballet knocked on my door, so unexpectedly it has remained until now. This art requires a lot of internal resources: stubbornness, all kinds of strength, patience and calmness. Since I have the opportunity to experience different characters' lives on stage every week, it is very important for me to find time to ground myself and come back to myself.

Morning is my special time. By waking up earlier, I allow myself to be in silence with only my thoughts. Being a sensitive soul, writing is an integral part of my morning routine. With a cup of tea and a pen in hand, I allow myself to pour out my greatest anxieties and dreams on paper. Having left them in the notebook, I can prepare for the upcoming rehearsals with a clear head and calm heart.

Although I live ballet every day, I still consider this art a miracle. The long hours spent in the halls pay off as soon as the stage curtain opens. Choreography and music, costumes, lights and sets make the impossible possible.

The path I have chosen is not easy or very long, dancers face all kinds of trials every day, but some inexplicable feeling, the power of the performance, the community does not allow me to stray from this path.
